Stuffed Cabbage

 

🥬 Ingredients:

 

For the Cabbage Rolls:

1 large head of cabbage

500 g (1 lb) ground beef or lamb

1 cup short-grain rice, rinsed and drained

1 medium onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons chopped parsley (optional)

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon mixed spices

½ teaspoon cumin (optional)

For the Tomato Sauce:

2 cups tomato sauce

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 cup beef or chicken broth (or water)

1 teaspoon sugar (to balance acidity)

Salt and pepper to taste

1–2 tablespoons olive oil

👩‍🍳 Brief Instructions

Boil cabbage leaves for a few minutes until softened.

Mix ground meat, rice, onion, garlic, parsley, and spices.

Place a spoonful of filling onto each cabbage leaf and roll tightly.

Arrange rolls in a pot.

Mix sauce ingredients and pour over the rolls until covered.

Simmer on low heat for 45–60 minutes until fully cooked.
