🔳Liver and Onions👩🍳🇺🇸
✅Ingredients
1 lb beef liver, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 large onion, thinly sliced
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup milk (for soaking the liver)
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons oil or butter
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
✅Instructions
Place the liver pieces in a bowl, cover with milk, and soak for 30–60 minutes to reduce bitterness. Drain and pat dry.
In a shallow dish, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Lightly dredge the liver pieces in the flour mixture.
Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook until soft and lightly caramelized. Remove onions and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the coated liver pieces in a single layer. Cook for 2–3 minutes per side until browned but still tender.
Return the onions to the skillet, pour in the beef broth, and gently stir. Simmer for 5–8 minutes until the gravy thickens and coats the liver and onions evenly.
