Sweet & Savory Turkey-Wrapped Dates

Ingredients:

12 pitted Medjool dates

6 slices turkey bacon (or your preferred turkey substitute)

1/4 cup goat cheese or cream cheese

1/4 cup chopped almonds or pecans (optional)

1 tablespoon honey (optional)

Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish (optional)

Instructions:

Prepare the Dates:

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.

Slice the dates lengthwise and remove any pits, creating a pocket.

Stuff each date with about 1 teaspoon of goat cheese or cream cheese. If using, add some chopped almonds or pecans for a little crunch.

Wrap the Dates:

Cut each slice of turkey bacon in half, creating 12 shorter pieces.

Carefully wrap one piece of turkey bacon around each stuffed date, securing it with a toothpick to hold the bacon in place.

Bake:

Arrange the turkey-wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the turkey bacon is crispy and browned, turning halfway through for even crispiness.

Drizzle with Honey (Optional):

If desired, drizzle a little honey over the dates just before serving for an extra touch of sweetness.

Serve:
