Smoky Bacon Cheddar Grilled Cheese Bake

Ingredients:
8 slices bread, preferably day-old (any type you like!)
6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
4 tbsp butter, melted
1 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp smoked paprika
Salt and pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)
Directions:
1️⃣ Prepare the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish (9×9 or similar) with a little butter or non-stick spray.
2️⃣ Assemble the Bake: Lay 4 slices of bread in the bottom of the baking dish. Spread a layer of crumbled bacon over the bread, then top with 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Place the remaining 4 slices of bread on top, creating a sandwich-like stack.
3️⃣ Make the Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the bread layers, ensuring that the bread soaks up the liquid.
4️⃣ Top and Bake: Drizzle the melted butter over the top of the bread. Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly on top.
5️⃣ Bake the Dish: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the top is golden and crispy.
6️⃣ Serve: Let the bake cool slightly, then garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Slice and serve warm!
