Here’s a simple and tasty recipe for Ground Turkey and Sweet Potato Skillet Delight:

 

Ingredients:

1 lb ground turkey

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into small cubes

1 small onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 bell pepper, diced (optional)

1 tsp olive oil (or cooking oil of choice)

1 tsp paprika

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp chili powder (optional for heat)

Salt and pepper to taste

1/2 cup chicken broth or water

Fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)

Lime wedges (optional)

Instructions:

Prep the Sweet Potatoes:

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil.

Add the diced sweet potatoes and cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally until they begin to soften and brown slightly. Remove them from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Turkey:

In the same skillet, add ground turkey and cook over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Season with a pinch of salt, pepper, paprika, cumin, and chili powder (if using).

Once the turkey is cooked, add the diced onion and bell pepper (if using), and cook for another 3-4 minutes until softened.

Combine and Simmer:

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Return the sweet potatoes to the skillet. Add chicken broth (or water) to help everything come together and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sweet potatoes are tender and the flavors have melded.

Serve:

Adjust seasonings with salt, pepper, or extra spices to taste.

Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lime wedges on the side for a burst of flavor.

Optional Variations:

Add veggies: You can add spinach, kale, or zucchini to sneak in extra greens.

Top with cheese: Sprinkle with shredded cheese towards the end of cooking if you like a cheesy touch.

Serve with avocado: For added creaminess, serve with sliced avocado on top.
