Sausage & Cabbage Stew

Ingredients:

Smoked Sausage: (such as Kielbasa), sliced into rounds.

Cabbage: One small head of green cabbage, chopped into bite-sized pieces.

Potatoes: Peeled and cut into large cubes.

Chicken Broth: (or water with a bouillon cube) to provide the cooking liquid and extra flavor.

Instructions:

Prep the Veggies: Chop the cabbage and potatoes into chunks. Slice the sausage into circles.

Layering: Place the cabbage at the bottom of the slow cooker (or pot), add the potatoes on top, and finally layer the sausage slices over the vegetables.

Adding Liquid: Pour in the chicken broth. You don’t need to submerge everything completely because the cabbage will release its own moisture as it cooks.

Cooking:

In a Slow Cooker: Cover and cook on Low for 6–8 hours or on High for 3–4 hours until the potatoes are tender.

On the Stovetop: Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for about 30–45 minutes.

Pro-Tip:

Even with just 4 main ingredients, don’t forget a pinch of salt and black pepper to bring out the flavors!
