Pancake 🥞
To get that perfect, fluffy stack shown in the picture, here is the classic recipe:
Ingredients
Flour: 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour.
Sugar: 2 tablespoons.
Baking Powder: 3 teaspoons (this is the secret to the height).
Salt: ½ teaspoon.
Milk: 1 ¼ cups.
Egg: 1 large egg.
Butter: 3 tablespoons melted butter.
Vanilla: 1 teaspoon.
Preparation Steps
Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then whisk in the milk, melted butter, and vanilla.
The Mix: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir just until combined (Pro Tip: Don’t overmix! A few lumps are okay and actually make the pancakes fluffier).
Cooking: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Lightly grease with a little oil or butter.
The Flip: Pour about ¼ cup of batter for each pancake. Wait until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges look set, then flip and cook until golden brown on both sides.
For Serving (As seen in the picture)
Stack the pancakes high.
Top with a pat of butter while they are still hot.
Drizzle generously with Maple Syrup or honey.
