Italian Zeppole

 

Ingredients:

1. **For the dough:**

– 1 cup of water

– 1/2 cup of butter

– 1 teaspoon of sugar

– A pinch of salt

– 1 cup of flour

– 4 eggs

 

2. **For the filling:**

– Vanilla cream or custard

– Cherry jam or any preferred jam (for topping)

 

3. **For decoration:**

– Powdered sugar

 

#### Preparation Method:

1. **Making the dough:**

– In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil.

– Add the flour all at once, stirring continuously until a ball of dough forms.

– Allow the dough to cool slightly, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well until combined.

 

2. **Frying:**

– Heat oil in a deep pan until hot.

– Use a teaspoon to shape small balls of dough and carefully place them in the hot oil. Fry until golden brown on all sides.

 

3. **Serving:**

– Place the zeppole on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

– Fill the zeppole with vanilla cream and top with jam and powdered sugar.

 

Serve warm and enjoy this delicious treat!
