Fried Potatoes and Onions Recipe
Ingredients
4 large potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons vegetable oil or butter
Salt, to taste
Black pepper, to taste
Optional: garlic powder, paprika, or chopped parsley
Instructions
1. Prepare the potatoes
Peel the potatoes and slice them into thin, even rounds. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture—this helps them get crispy.
2. Heat the pan
In a large skillet, heat the oil or butter over medium heat until hot.
3. Cook the potatoes
Add the sliced potatoes in an even layer. Let them cook without stirring for a few minutes until the bottoms turn golden brown.
4. Add the onions
Sprinkle the chopped onions over the potatoes. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until the potatoes are tender and the onions are soft and lightly golden.
5. Season
Add salt and black pepper to taste. You may also add garlic powder or paprika for extra flavor.
6. Serve
Serve hot as a breakfast side, with eggs, chicken, or enjoy them on their own.
