Crispy Honey Garlic Chicken Tenders
Ingredients
Chicken Tenders:
500g chicken tenders (or chicken breast cut into strips)
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, beaten
1.5 cups panko breadcrumbs
Salt and pepper to taste
Vegetable oil for frying
Honey Garlic Sauce:
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 2 teaspoons water for thickening)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Chicken Tenders: Season the chicken tenders with salt and pepper.
2. Set up a breading station: one bowl with flour, another with beaten eggs, and the third with panko breadcrumbs.
3. Dredge each chicken tender in flour, then dip in eggs, and finally coat with panko breadcrumbs. Press the breadcrumbs firmly for a crispy coating.
4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, fry the chicken tenders in batches until golden brown and fully cooked, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
5. Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic. Bring to a simmer.
6. Stir in the cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce. Cook for another 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
7. Toss the fried chicken tenders in the honey garlic sauce until well coated.
8. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
