Chocokate Ding Dong Cake

Ingredients:

 

1 box chocolate cake mix (plus ingredients listed on the box, typically eggs, oil, and water)

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tbsp butter

1 cup marshmallow fluff

1 tbsp cornstarch

¼ cup water

 

Directions:

 

Preheat the oven as directed on the cake mix box. Prepare the cake mix by combining it with eggs, oil, and water, then mix according to the box instructions.

Pour the batter into a greased round cake pan and bake as instructed. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.

 

In a bowl, combine marshmallow fluff and cornstarch with ¼ cup of water, then whisk until smooth.

 

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

 

Once the cake has cooled, cut it in half horizontally to create two layers. Spread the marshmallow filling on the bottom layer of the cake, then top with the whipped cream mixture.
