Cheeseburger Egg Rolls.

Cheeseburger Egg Rolls.
Ingredients
For the Filling:
1 lb (500g) Ground beef.
1 Medium onion, finely diced.
2 Cloves garlic, minced.
Salt & Black Pepper to taste.
1 tsp Mustard (or mustard powder).
1 tbsp Ketchup.
For Assembly:
1 pack Egg roll wrappers (or Spring Roll pastry).
Sliced Cheddar or American cheese (to get that gooey melt in the photo).
Optional: Finely chopped pickles.
For Frying:
Vegetable oil for deep frying.
Instructions
Cook the Filling: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, sauté the onion until soft. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain any excess fat.
Season: Add the garlic, salt, pepper, mustard, and ketchup. Stir well for 2 minutes, then remove from heat. Important: Let the meat cool completely before wrapping so the pastry doesn’t get soggy.
Assemble: * Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape.
Place a half-slice of cheese in the center, followed by a large spoonful of the meat mixture (and a few pickles if you like).
Fold the bottom corner up over the filling, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly toward the top corner.
Seal the edge with a dab of water or a “cornstarch slurry” (water mixed with a little starch).
Fry: Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry the rolls in batches for 3–5 minutes until they are a deep golden brown and crispy.
Serve: Drain on paper towels and serve immediately while the cheese is still melted.
The “Secret” Dipping Sauce
To make them taste even more like a burger, mix Mayonnaise, Ketchup, and a little Mustard together for a “Big Mac” style dipping sauce!
