Chocolate Sheet Cake

Chocolate Sheet Cake
1. Cake Ingredient:
All-purpose flour: 2 cups.
Granulated sugar: 1 ½ cups.
Unsweetened cocoa powder: ½ cup (high quality).
Large eggs: 2 (at room temperature).
Milk: 1 cup.
Vegetable oil: ½ cup.
Boiling water: 1 cup (the secret to moisture).
Baking powder: 1 tbsp.
Vanilla extract: 1 tsp.
Salt: A pinch.
2. Chocolate Glaze Ingredients
Milk: ½ cup.
Sugar: ½ cup.
Vegetable oil: ½ cup.
Cocoa powder: 3 tbsp.
(Alternatively, you can use a mix of melted chocolate and heavy cream for a richer ganache).
Preparation Steps
Step 1: Prepare the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, and salt).
Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla. Mix well until smooth.
Gradually stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but this ensures a super moist texture.
Pour the mixture into a greased rectangular baking pan (as shown in the image).
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 30-35 minutes.
Step 2: Make the Glaze
In a blender, combine the milk, sugar, and cocoa powder.
While blending, slowly pour in the oil in a thin stream until the mixture thickens and becomes shiny.
Step 3: Finishing Touches
Once the cake is out of the oven, let it cool slightly, then poke holes all over the surface with a fork.
(Optional) For extra moisture, soak the cake with ½ cup of milk mixed with a teaspoon of cocoa.
Pour the shiny chocolate glaze evenly over the warm cake.
Cut into squares and refrigerate for at least one hour before serving.
