Crispy Fried Fish
Ingredients:
4 fish fillets (cod, haddock, or tilapia)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cornstarch
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup cold sparkling water
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F (190°C).
2. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
3. Gradually whisk in the sparkling water until smooth.
4. Pat fish fillets dry, then coat them lightly in flour.
5. Dip the fillets into the batter, letting excess drip off.
6. Fry in hot oil for 4-5 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
7. Remove and place on paper towels to drain. Serve hot with lemo
n wedges and tartar sauce.
